The Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, Manav Rachna University, organized an Alumni Guest Lecture under the Legacy Lives series on 9th October 2025. The session was taken by Mr. Adyan Nair, Deputy Manager – Unitary Sales at Trane Technologies, and an esteemed alumnus of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (2013–2017) from Manav Rachna College of Engineering (MRCE).

Mr. Nair shared his professional journey in the HVAC industry, highlighting the evolving landscape of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning in India. He emphasized the sector’s growing relevance in sustainable infrastructure and energy-efficient solutions, offering students a practical lens into career opportunities, industry expectations, and the role of innovation in shaping the future.

He focused on the importance of having a strong intent to grow, recognizing opportunities even in uncertain situations, and maintaining consistency as the cornerstone of personal and professional success. Mr. Nair encouraged students to stay curious, keep learning, and build credibility through their endeavours. 

The session was interactive, with students engaging in discussions around industry readiness, skill development, and sustainability challenges. Faculty members expressed appreciation for Mr. Nair’s valuable insights and his continued connection with the Manav Rachna community.

As part of the “Legacy Lives – Alumni Lecture Series,” the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an insightful talk on 29th August 2025 at HF-03. The session was delivered by Mr. Nitin Jaiswal, an esteemed alumnus of the department, currently working with Danieli India limited, a leading name in the field of engineering and steel plant equipment manufacturing.

The lecture highlighted the importance of technical proficiency, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities, along with soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management. Mr. Jaiswal also guided students on how to prepare for the industry by focusing on internships, hands-on projects, and continuous learning to stay updated with modern tools and technologies.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in the Q&A segment. They gained a better understanding of career prospects in the manufacturing and engineering sector, as well as the skills needed to succeed in a competitive industrial environment.

As part of the “Legacy Lives – Alumni Lecture Series,” an alumni talk titled “Leadership in the Age of AI: Managing Innovation for Tomorrow” was delivered by Mr. Karan Khanduja, Managing Director- Newsun Plastic Industries, Founder- KK GOLF. The session aimed to highlight how artificial intelligence is reshaping leadership practices, innovation strategies, and organizational decision-making in the modern era. Alumni, faculty members, and students attended the lecture, eager to understand the intersection of technology and leadership.

Mr. Khanduja emphasized the growing role of AI in transforming industries by enabling predictive analytics, automation, and data-driven decisions. He explained how leaders must adapt to this changing environment by developing digital literacy, fostering innovation, and encouraging ethical practices in the use of AI. Through real-world examples, the talk illustrated how organizations are leveraging AI not only for operational efficiency but also for designing forward-looking strategies.
