Message from the Head of Department – Mechanical Engineering
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Manav Rachna University.
Mechanical Engineering has always been at the core of how the world functions from the simplest tools we use every day to complex systems like automobiles, aircraft, and energy solutions. For us, it is not just a discipline, but a way of thinking focused on solving real problems and creating meaningful impact.
At our department, we offer B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with specializations in Smart Manufacturing and Automation and Electric Vehicles, along with M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. All specializations are co-designed, co-delivered, and co-certified with our industry partner, L&T Infotech, ensuring that what students learn is closely aligned with real industry needs.
Our program is built to give students a strong foundation while preparing them for what lies ahead. It spans key areas such as Advanced Manufacturing, Thermal Systems, Materials Science, Robotics, Automation, and emerging domains like Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0. In the Electric Vehicles students also explore areas like EV powertrain systems, battery technologies and management and electric mobility infrastructure.
We strongly believe that real learning happens beyond textbooks. Through hands-on lab work, interdisciplinary projects, and regular industry interaction, we encourage students to question, experiment and build with confidence. Whether it’s sustainable mobility, clean energy, or smart manufacturing, our focus remains on creating solutions that truly matter.
As technology continues to evolve with advancements in AI, automation and green engineering, the role of mechanical engineers is becoming even more exciting and important. Our aim is not just to prepare students for jobs, but to help them grow into thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
