Smart manufacturing and automation is a technology driven approach for enhancement of the production and to reduce waste during the manufacturing process. The technology utilizes the internet connected industry to monitor the complete production process.
Industry Tie-ups

With the help of smart manufacturing machines it becomes networked through the Internet of Things and data analytics is used to improve the manufacturing process. 3D Printing, Robotics, Product Design & Development, Heating Venting & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Solar Energy, Electrical Vehicle, CNC Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Control System, Industrial Automation, CFD, Power Plant Engineering, Renewable Energy etc are the main topics offered by Smart Manufacturing and Automation to approach towards industry 4.0 in MRU. Various industrial collaborations are also done to enhance the hands-on practices of the students.

Altair- DesignTech

Manav Rachna University (MRU), Faridabad signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Altair- DesignTech to start a Centre of Excellence on latest design and simulation software. Collaboration with Altair-DesignTech is done to provide knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Manufacturability of Products of Casting, Plastics and Sheet Metal, Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Composite Materials and Industrial Projects Execution to the students and faculty of mechanical engineering department.

The CAE - COE will have the following activities

  • Training for students and faculties
    • Train the Trainer programs
    • Opportunity for knowledge augmentation through, industry lectures & workshops
    • Joint research programs & field studies
  • Conduct of Projects at UG/PG/Ph.D. Level
    • Collaborative Research Projects
    • Sponsored Industry Research Projects
    • Professional category pilot projects by Altair India
    • Incubation Centre – Engineering Institutes nurture Entrepreneurial activity in the especially set-up incubation Centres within the Institute premises.
  • Conduct Short Term/Continuing Education Programs
  • Carrying out research projects for the industry.
  • Carrying out Induction training for those recruited by Altair
    • Work towards an objective for helping COE develop Industry ready mechanical engineers for R&D and Product Development.
    • Altair will facilitate an opportunity to identify competent students for Internship/Recruitment.

DAIKIN Centre of Excellence

DAIKIN Centre of Excellence has been set up in Manav Rachna University, Faridabad in April 2018. The aim to set up the centre is to train the students and faculties about the Air Conditioning Technology. The Centre has different types of Air Conditioner technology which are being used commercially.

The training for the students as well as for the faculties has been conducting at the Centre.The students can see the actual parts of air conditioner .i.e. different types of compressor, indoor unit and outdoor unit of an air conditioner. The center also has latest technology of air conditioner in the form of VRV which is Variable Refrigerant Volume unit.

The centre of excellence conducted many trainings for the Technicians and ITI of the Faridabad vendors in the five years tenure.

Students also got benefitted from the centre as they were involved in trainings and workshops organised by the experts.
