In the mechanical engineering department students perform various technical activities under Society of Automotive Engineers-India. SAE-INDIA is an affiliated society of SAE International registered in India as an Indian non-profit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of the automobile sector.

NEP 2020–Aligned Academic Framework: All academic practices are aligned with AICTE, UGC, NBA, and NEP 2020 to promote holistic, ethical, and future-ready education.

Certification through NPTEL MOOC

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science(IISc) have joined hands with the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development’s(HRD) through NPTEL, to launch Open Online courses on the massive open online courses (MOOC) model in February, 2014. The NPTEL courses are free for anyone with access to the Internet. SWAYAM is the National MOOCs portal being developed by MHRD, Govt. of India.

In order to ensure best quality content is produced and delivered, seven National Coordinators have been appointed under SWAYAM.

NPTEL is the official SWAYAM national coordinator for engineering. All NPTEL online certification courses are SWAYAM courses too. From March 2014, NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs.
