A Beginner’s Journey into VLSI Verification

As part of the “Legacy Lives – Alumni Lecture Series,” a guest lecture titled “A Beginner’s Journey into VLSI Verification” was held on 29th August 2025 at HF-03. The session was delivered by Mr. Mohit Yadav, Design Verification Engineer at Truechip Technologies, who shared his expertise on the fundamentals and significance of VLSI verification in the semiconductor industry. He explained key concepts such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, testbenches, assertions, and the UVM methodology, while emphasising the importance of strong coding skills, debugging proficiency, and a problem-solving approach. The talk also offered a practical roadmap for beginners, encouraging students to pursue projects, internships, and certifications to strengthen their foundation. With over 80 students in attendance, the interactive session provided valuable insights into industry expectations, tools, and career opportunities, leaving the audience inspired and motivated. The department expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Yadav for his enlightening and engaging session.

Journey Beyond Graduation: An Alumni’s Story of Growth and Grit

As part of the Legacy Lives – Alumni Lecture Series, an alumni talk titled “Journey Beyond Graduation: An Alumni’s Story of Growth and Grit” was delivered by Mr. Aakash Gera, Managing Director of Sai International. Mr. Gera, a proud alumnus, shared his inspiring journey that served as a beacon of motivation for current students. The event aimed to strengthen the bond between alumni and the institution while offering valuable insights into the professional world beyond academics.

Mr. Gera spoke about his transition from student life to becoming a successful entrepreneur and business leader. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and continuous learning in achieving long-term goals. Through personal anecdotes and practical advice, he illustrated how challenges can be transformed into stepping stones for success, inspiring students to remain resilient and focused in the face of adversity.

The session concluded with an engaging interaction between Mr. Gera and the audience, where students posed thought-provoking questions about career development and leadership. The lecture left a lasting impact, motivating participants to pursue their aspirations with determination and grit.

IPR Awareness and Protection

As part of the Legacy Lives -Alumni Lecture Series, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an engaging alumni talk on “IPR Awareness and Protection” delivered by Mr. Yogesh Gupta, Managing Associate at LexOrbis and a proud alumnus of Manav Rachna University (B.Tech ECE, Batch 2012–2016).

The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their growing importance in the modern innovation landscape. Mr. Gupta shared his professional journey from being an engineering student at MRU to becoming a registered Indian Patent Agent and a successful IP professional.

During his talk, he explained the fundamentals of IPR, the patent filing process, and the role of engineers in protecting technological innovations. He emphasized how awareness of intellectual property can empower innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs to safeguard their creative work. Drawing from his rich experience at LexOrbis, he also highlighted real-world examples and provided practical insights into the intersection of technology and law.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students enthusiastically discussed career opportunities in IPR and sought guidance on how to contribute to innovation through proper legal channels. The talk proved to be highly informative and motivating, leaving students inspired to think innovatively and value the protection of intellectual property.

Building a Successful Career in a Rapidly Changing World

As part of the “Legacy Lives – Alumni Lecture Series,” an alumni lecture titled “Building a Successful Career in a Rapidly Changing World” was delivered by Mr. Dharuv Suri, Manager at Ernst & Young (EY) and an alumnus of Manav Rachna College of Engineering (Electronics and Communication Engineering, 2016).

The session emphasized the importance of adaptability, continuous upskilling, and aligning academic learning with industry requirements. Mr. Suri shared practical insights from his professional experience and highlighted emerging industry trends, particularly the growing importance of data-driven decision-making and analytical thinking.

During the interaction, Mr. Suri strongly advised students to continuously enhance their professional portfolios by working on projects, certifications, and internships. He also emphasized the importance of being active on professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn, encouraging students to build a strong online presence, engage with industry professionals, and showcase their skills and achievements effectively. Additionally, he shared and suggested useful professional links and online resources like Data world, kaggle that provide practical solutions, learning pathways, and guidance for aspiring professionals to stay updated with industry practices.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and seeking advice on career planning, skill development, and industry expectations. The guidance provided by Mr. Suri helped students gain clarity on how to bridge the gap between academics and industry demands.
