IETE Students Forum

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) founded in 1953 is one of the leading Professional Society in India. ISF (IETE Students Forum) is formed by the Engineering students studying in Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics across the Country. More than 550 live ISFs are functioning in India today with a student membership of more than 60,000.

IETE Student Forum at MRU was formulated on Nov 14, 2023 and inaugurated on 21st Nov, 2023 under the ISF faculty coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Charu Pathak. ADD THIS PICTURE

Objectives of ISF
  • Improving standard of Engineering Education.
  • Counseling the students in the emerging new opportunities.
  • Encouraging and motivating outside classroom studies, workshops, projects, and seminars.
  • Increasing the student base and Corporate Membership of IETE.
Activities
  • To plan and organize Technical Programs, Special Lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Symposia, and Exhibitions for the benefit of students.
  • To provide a common platform for students to exchange ideas on technical topics of interest, such as curriculum, employment, higher educational opportunities, and emerging trends.
  • To facilitate technical visits, project work, employment opportunities, and interaction with industries and academic institutions.
  • To encourage team spirit and self-reliance among student members.
  • To act as a catalyst for the overall growth of technical and professional skills among students.

  • Priority for publishing papers in the Journal of Education.
  • Opportunity to subscribe to other publications such as IETE Journal of Research and IETE Technical Review (available online).
  • Eligibility to attend IETE technical programs across India at reduced registration fees.
  • Issuance of an official ISF Membership Identity Card.
Benefits to the Institution
  • A suitable grant to the IETE Forum, based on membership strength, to conduct various activities.
  • A complete set of IETE technical publications, including IETE Journal of Research, IETE Technical Review, IETE Journal of Education, and IETE Newsletter, will be provided to the ISF Coordinator for the college library.
  • Regular interaction with Local Centres and Corporate Members for technical and professional support.
  • Possibility of establishing Electronics Hobby Centres within the institution with industry support.
  • Conduct of competitions such as quizzes, technical paper contests, essay competitions, technical visits to industries, and inter-collegiate events.
  • Consideration of special grants for ISF activities during annual fests.
  • ISF students, after graduation, are invited to become Corporate Members of IETE with a fee concession equivalent to the amount paid during ISF enrollment, provided they apply within 12 months of passing their examinations.

Workshop on Openness.ai, "AI Platform for Self-Assessment of Technical and Communication Skills"

The workshop was aimed at equipping students with AI-driven tools to enhance their interview preparation. The tool “openess.ai” was demonstrated and a hands-on session was conducted where participants learned how the tool can be used for self-evaluation of both technical and communication skills. The tool gives feedback using the audio and video of interview sessions scheduled by AI.

Workshop on "Idea Generation and Business Model Canvas Creation"

This two-day workshop was aimed at motivating students of grades 6, 7, and 8 towards generating new ideas for solving simple problems around them using the SCAMPER technique. Students were also taught to develop their Business Model Canvas based on their ideas.

Electronika 2025 - Live Online Quiz on Fundamentals of Electronics

Electronika 2025 was an online live quiz based on fundamentals of electronics that assessed both the knowledge and speed of answering questions in an online live environment. The event aimed at motivating students towards strengthening their understanding of analog and digital electronics.

IoT Project Contest "Arduino Fest 2025"

Arduino Fest 2025 aimed at fostering creative thinking and innovative practices among students aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Students developed on-the-spot Arduino-based solutions to address real-world challenges.

Contest on "Idea Generation and Business Model Canvas Creation"

The workshop and contest, held at Manav Rachna International School, Sector 14, Faridabad, focused on nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students of grades 8 and 9 through ideation and business planning activities.

Workshop on "Engineer to Entrepreneurship"

The interactive workshop aimed at motivating students towards startups. The session centered on innovation and entrepreneurship, bridging an engineering mindset with impactful education-tech solutions.

Technical Treasure Hunt "TechRaid 2025"

The Technical Treasure Hunt was an exhilarating event designed to test participants' problem-solving skills and technical prowess. Teams navigated through a series of challenging clues, blending coding puzzles and logical reasoning based on digital electronics.

Ideation Contest "IdeaHack 2025"

IDEAHACK-2025 aimed to promote innovative ideas and practical solutions to real-world problems. Teams identified problems, developed impactful solutions, and presented them before judges.

IoT Workshop and IOTNOVA 2025

IOTNOVA-2025 aimed at promoting innovation, creativity, and awareness in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT). The event encouraged students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply technical knowledge to real-world problem statements using Arduino and sensors.

TECHFUSION 2026

The TechFusion 2026 Workshop was successfully organized under the School Connect Program at Manav Rachna University. The workshop enhanced students’ problem-solving skills and technical understanding through demonstrations on 3D printing, BrainSense devices, and pick-and-place robots.

Workshop on "EEG Data Acquisition Using BrainSense"

The workshop provided a comprehensive introduction to brainwave signals, electrode placement, and real-time EEG data capture. Participants were actively involved in hands-on activities, including device setup, signal acquisition, and visualization of brain signals.
