Lecture Series:

Justice UU Lalit-- There can be no greater learning than when it comes directly from someone who has himself been an integral part of the judicial system. The inaugural session by Justice UU Lalit on “Constitutional Amendments and Responses from the Court” was nothing short of extraordinary.

Even though today was just an introductory session, the impact was remarkable. Justice Lalit eloquently traced the journey of constitutional amendments through landmark cases — Shankari Prasad, Sajjan Singh, Golaknath, Kesavananda Bharati, Unnikrishnan and NJAC.

This is more than just a lecture series — it is an academic journey that will remain etched in their minds forever.

Eminent Leadership & Distinguished Faculty

Hon’ble Justice U.U. Lalit, Former Chief Justice of India, serves as the Chair Professor, leading a distinguished faculty of legal scholars, practitioners, and researchers who ensure a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The Centre for Public Policy

The Centre for Public Policy, Law, and Governance at Manav Rachna University organized an experiential research visit to the Surajkund International Crafts Mela, one of the largest handicraft fairs in the world. Ten students participated in this study-based field trip, aimed at exploring the intersection of state policy, artisan rights, cultural heritage, and economic development.

Students documented insights, conducted interviews, and critically analyzed how state interventions shaped the experiences of artisans and attendees. The visit allowed participants to directly correlate policy theory with practical implementation, fostering a deeper understanding of governance, public policy, and cultural economics.

Innovative and Industry-Oriented Curriculum

A well-structured curriculum integrates contemporary legal trends like AI & Law, Cyber Law, International Trade Law, and Environmental Law, with a special focus on experiential learning through clinical legal education, legal aid, and real-world case studies.

Café BharatNāma: Where Every Thread Told a Story

Some days you wake up and see the same things differently.

At the School of Law, Manav Rachna University, the familiar corridors felt transformed, softer somehow, as though they, too, were listening. Under the warmth of laughter and the scent of home-cooked flavours, Barristers & Books, our literary club, didn’t just organise an event; we created a feeling, one that pulsed with memory, melody, and meaning.

It was an event where we travelled the length and breadth of the country without moving an inch. Each of us represented a state, not the one etched on our birth certificates, but the one our hearts leaned toward. Through clothing, flavours, and fragments of tradition, we borrowed voices from every corner of India and let them speak through us.

K.S. Puttaswamy Case

At the School of Law, Manav Rachna University, we believe that learning law goes beyond reading landmark judgments, it is about understanding them, questioning them, and experiencing how constitutional principles operate in real life.

As part of our Constitutional Week Celebration, Juris Fiesta, our cultural club along with students re-enacted one of the most significant constitutional decisions in India, the Justice K.S. Puttaswamy (Retd.) vs. Union of India case, which recognized the Right to Privacy as a fundamental right.

Through this re-enactment, students stepped into the roles of counsels and judges, analyzed arguments on individual liberty, State surveillance, dignity, and fundamental rights, and understood the depth of constitutional interpretation.

The exercise encouraged them to explore how the Constitution evolves through judicial reasoning and how courts balance personal freedom with public interest.
