25 yearsIt gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Our department is committed to delivering high-quality education, fostering innovative research, and preparing students to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving technological world.
We emphasize experiential and student-centric learning approaches such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), flipped classroom methodologies, and Design Thinking and Innovation (DTI) practices, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems while nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial skills.
Our academic and research initiatives are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that students engage in socially relevant and impactful projects that contribute to sustainable and inclusive development. The department provides extensive hands-on learning opportunities using modern tools, emerging technologies, and industry-relevant platforms.
The department maintains strong industry collaborations with leading organizations such as Google, Infosys, and other reputed technology partners, facilitating industry-aligned curriculum enrichment, certification programs, internships, live projects, and expert interactions.
A key focus of the department is training, placement, and mentoring. Each student is supported through a structured faculty mentoring system, where experienced faculty members provide continuous academic guidance, career counseling, research mentoring, and personal support. This mentoring framework helps students identify their strengths, set career goals, improve employability skills, and successfully transition from academia to industry or higher education.
Continuous efforts are made to enhance students’ employability through skill development programs, coding practices, aptitude and soft-skill training, industry-oriented workshops, and professional certifications. Regular career guidance sessions, internships, and placement drives ensure strong industry readiness.
To further bridge academia, industry, and research, the department organizes expert talks, workshops, and technical seminars by industry professionals, researchers, and academicians. Students are encouraged to present and publish their work at national and international platforms, including IEEE and reputed conferences such as Taylor & Francis, fostering research aptitude and global exposure.
The strength of the department lies in its highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated faculty, who actively engage in teaching, research, consultancy, and professional development. Faculty members are deeply committed to holistic mentoring—academic, professional, and personal—ensuring the overall growth and well-being of every student.
As the digital landscape continues to evolve, our focus remains on nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible computing professionals. I encourage all students to actively participate in academics, research, mentoring programs, industry collaborations, professional societies, placements, and extracurricular activities.
I look forward to seeing our students emerge as innovators, leaders, and responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society.
