Dr. Indrani is an accomplished educator and researcher with over seven years of teaching experience and five years of dedicated research. She is passionate about fostering a deep understanding of chemistry while driving impactful scientific research. She earned her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Delhi, focusing on how ionic liquids affect protein folding, unfolding, and stability. Her work advanced the understanding of biomolecular interactions and contributed significantly to biophysical chemistry. Dr. Indrani has received multiple Best Poster Awards (2012-2013) from the Indian Chemical Society and other conferences, as well as consecutive Young Scientist Awards (2014 & 2015) for excellence in Physical Chemistry. She was also recognized with Certificates of Merit and the Smt. Shakuntala Chadha Memorial Prize for academic excellence during her B.Sc. Chemistry at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi, and won 2nd Prize in a declamation contest. Dr. Indrani was awarded the CSIR Junior and Senior Research Fellowships (JRF & SRF) for her high performance (AIR: 64) in the CSIR-NET exam. She is proficient in advanced techniques such as fluorescence, UV-Vis, FT-IR, circular dichroism (CD), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) spectroscopy, as well as microscopy tools like SEM and TEM. Her research expertise spans protein chemistry, nanotechnology, and biophysical studies, resulting in 18 research publications and one book chapter. Having taught at various institutions, including the University of Delhi and Acharya Narendra Dev College, she joined Hansraj College in 2017, integrating teaching and research through innovative curricula and student mentorship. Dr. Indrani combines subject matter expertise with strong communication, problem-solving, and collaborative skills. She values a student-centered approach, focusing on concept clarity, practical applications, and continuous growth. Her mission is to make chemistry accessible, engaging, and relevant for students across all levels. Beyond teaching, Dr. Indrani actively participates in academic initiatives, engaging in collaborative research projects and mentoring students in hands-on research. She is driven by a passion for nurturing future scientists and fostering a spirit of inquiry, encouraging students to think critically and creatively about chemistry's real-world applications. Her journey, from earning her undergraduate degree (B.Sc. Chemistry Honors) at Daulat Ram College to completing her Ph.D. at the University of Delhi, exemplifies her dedication to academic excellence. With a combination of teaching expertise, research acumen, and a student-focused mindset, Dr. Indrani is committed to making a meaningful impact in both education and research.Area of Interest: twistronics, moiré materials, theoretical spectroscopy, Rayleigh scattering, multiphoton absorption
