The B.A. Political Science (with Civil Services Preparation) is a 4-year full-time undergraduate programme built on a strong academic core with an optional, integrated civil services preparation track running alongside it.
The degree keeps the honours curriculum intact, but adds structured UPSC-oriented support inside the university learning routine, so students do not have to depend fully on external coaching.
The ba political science syllabus already covers many areas that map strongly to civil services requirements, such as Indian polity, governance, public administration, international relations, and socio-economic issues. Alongside, the integrated track strengthens this alignment through current affairs integration, analytical writing, and answer-writing orientation within the academic journey.

No. You earn the same B.A. (Hons.) Political Science degree. The civil services preparation component is an optional track that runs alongside your regular coursework, adding guided preparation without changing the final degree awarded.
No. The approved syllabus, semester structure, and academic requirements of the Political Science programme remain the same. The track adds preparation support around your learning, so your core subjects and credits stay unchanged.
Preparation is built into your academic journey through subject mapping to exam areas, regular current affairs discussion, structured analytical writing, answer-writing practice, and mentoring support. This keeps learning connected to real exam expectations, semester by semester.
Not necessarily. The track is designed to reduce dependence on coaching by providing a structured preparation routine within the university. Students may still choose extra support, but the academic ecosystem covers the core orientation and practice.
Selection is merit-based and depends on meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria. Seats are limited, so admission to the track also depends on availability. Once enrolled, students are expected to maintain consistency and academic discipline.
The top five meritorious students receive tuition fee waivers under the fellowship. It is renewed each year based on academic performance and conduct, so students must stay regular with coursework, assessments, and overall academic discipline.
No. Students awarded this Merit Fellowship cannot combine it with other scholarships or financial concessions. This keeps the support structure clear and avoids overlapping benefits under multiple schemes at the same time.
Students who are serious about civil services, governance, or public policy should opt for it. It suits learners who can handle disciplined reading, regular writing practice, and long-term preparation while completing a full honours programme.
No. It is completely optional. Students can pursue the regular B.A. (Hons.) Political Science programme without this track, and still receive the same degree. The track is only for those who choose it.
