As an active exponent of the ‘Skill India’ mission, Dr. Prashant Bhalla has been working closely with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for promoting vocational education and training across the country. Under his leadership as Director of KEDMAN Skilling Private Limited (SkillEd India), a Joint Venture company of Manav Rachna Education Institutions (MREI) and Kunskapsskolan Education Sweden AB; KEDMAN is supporting Vocationalization of Education leading to employability of potential drop- outsin the Government run schools. KEDMAN is also designated Knowledge Partner of NSDC for providing digital online vocational content and also a member of IISC (India International Skill Centre) network of NSDC. KEDMAN projects are in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the AGREEMENT, with various Sector Skill Councils under NSDC and with varied Corporate entities, like Association of Healthcare Providers (India), Indian Direct Selling Association, Oriflame, Modicare, Blulife Marketing, Sony India to name a few in India and in UAE with Xtramix and Union Assessment and Certification.
Era Foundation has been doing commendable work under Dr. Bhalla’s Leadership. Era Foundation formed the QS-ERA India Private Limited in a revolutionary joint venture between (QS) Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd of the United Kingdom to form QS I-Guage. an independent private-sector initiative specialised in rating colleges and universities. It brings together the global expertise, experience and reputation of QS along with deep local knowledge of luminaries from Indian higher education. Each rating produced is strictly monitored for quality control by the QS Intelligence Unit in London - the same team that produces the authoritative QS World University Rankings (since 2004) and related regional and subject rankings, as well as the globally recognised QS STARS University Ratings System. Close supervision by QS (IU) ensures the independence, quality and integrity of the ratings, leading to their global recognition.
Dr. Prashant Bhalla has recently been inducted in the Higher Education Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). At the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Dr. Bhalla is a member of the National Committee on Higher Education, contributing significantly towards making a major impact on the direction in which CII has been working to increase industry's participation in Higher Education. He is also a member of the Partnerships Subcommittee under the aegis of the CII National Committee on Higher Education, wherein consistent efforts are being made at finding willing universities and industries to work together under the 100-100 partnership scheme. He is a member of CII’s National Committee on Skill Development and a core group member for policy advocacy under the CII Regional Committee on Skill Development. In the past, he has been the Advisor to the National Council on Education at ASSOCHAM.
Dr. Bhalla is the Life Member of the General Body of the Foundation for Organizational Research & Education (FORE) has been working with industry and academia for developing new domains of managerial thought and education and contributing to building leaders in today's global business environment.
As Senior Vice President of Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI), Dr. Bhalla’s contribution in the field of Higher Education and School Policy matters remains unparalleled. His voice has been heard by powerful political galleries of the Ministry of Education, the Parliamentary Standing Committee and regulatory bodies like AICTE, UGC, NMC, DGHS and AIU. He is actively engaged both in policy matters and decision-making. EPSI represents 6000+ institutional members, particularly in higher education i.e. Universities, Engineering Colleges, Medical Colleges, Management Institutions and Arts & Science Colleges. Under his leadership, EPSI has done commendable work to bring about a paradigm shift in the quality of education and ensuring greater access and transparency; policy advocacy; accreditation; faculty development programmes, and in consultancy for creating model institutions.
Dr. Bhalla is the President and Trustee of the Faridabad Education Council, a philanthropic institution that aims to improve the level of education for the Government School Students. In 2020, highly innovative ‘Teachers on Call’ Programme from the provinces of Bengal and Kolkata was brought to the districts of Faridabad and Palwal in collaboration with Sahaj Path Knowledge Foundation. ‘Teachers on Call’ is a toll-free remedial teaching service with more than 300 teachers available to clear doubts and queries of more than 12000 beneficiaries in 5 subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
Under the able leadership of Dr. Bhalla as its President, Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation, works in diverse fields to ensure sustainable growth and development of the community. Foundation works in the field of Gender Equality and Women Empowerment through initiatives like ‘Give Her Wings to Fly’ which aims to educate rural woman population about Menstrual Hygiene and Sanitary napkin distribution. Team Foundation also works for the objective of inclusion and mainstreaming of underprivileged sections of society by the means of education and skill development through initiatives like Kaushal - Skill Development Program, Pustak – Book Donation Drive, Health Camps and participation of Government School Students in multiple cultural, sports and art competition. Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation has also adopted 10 villages of Faridabad District to promote development and welfare activities.
Dr. Bhalla is also a recipient of the Bharatiya Manav Adhikar Samman 2015 as ‘India’s most eminent visionary mentor’ (Influential Leadership in education) by the All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties and Social Justice.
