Dr. Monika Tandan

Brief Profile

Dr. Monika Tandan graduated from Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences, Bangalore in 2004. She pursued her M.D.S. at the esteemed A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. In 2008, she successfully completed her Masters, securing the 7th rank in the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. She has supervised more than 20 postgraduate students. Currently, she is guiding 4 PG students and a PHD scholar for their dissertation.

Dr. Tandan is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Federation of Operative Dentistry of India, Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Indian Endodontic Society, and the Aesthetic Dentistry Association of India.

She is also a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, USA—an honor recognizing her contributions to the profession.

Her research interests focus on endodontic infections, irrigation techniques, restorative outcomes, and advancements in microendodontics.

Dr. Tandan has authored numerous publications in indexed national and international journals, including randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, and case series. She has also contributed to academic literature through books and book chapters, reflecting her dedication to advancing evidence-based dentistry.

In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Tandan has undertaken significant administrative and leadership responsibilities within the institution. She is serving as the Member Secretary of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), ensuring adherence to ethical standards in research and clinical practice. As the IQAC Coordinator, she has played a pivotal role in implementing quality assurance measures, academic audits, and continuous institutional improvement aligned with accreditation standards. She is actively involved in multiple institutional committees and administrative initiatives, reflecting her strong organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and commitment to excellence in healthcare education and delivery.

In recognition of her dedicated service and outstanding contributions to Manav Rachna Dental College, Dr. Tandan was honored with the “Karmasu Kaushalam Award,” underscoring her commitment to excellence in academics, administration, and patient care.

With a strong blend of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and research excellence, Dr. Monika Tandan continues to play a pivotal role in shaping future dental professionals and advancing the field of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.
